The Cabinet

BuntyDave asked:

Made in 1983. Three of us met at art college and formed a band. While at collage we had to do a video project, most people did ‘My journey to college’ or ‘ How to strip a 2CV engine in a day’. We did a video for our first track. Filmed it all ourselves and edited it up in class. Remember way before pc’s and the video camera was the size of a bazooka. We got halfway through before thinking sod this and we then just started dicking around…….quality naff but it might give you a laugh. Remember this has nothing to do with the image of the band. Wasn’t supposed to be seen outside college. Done in a day and as we were dressed for going down the pub afterwards.

    Ah, just love it.
Melancholy, haunting imagery, urban coolness, irony, and that thing you can’t name… Its late success as a goth club hit is more than deserved. Essentials of Minimal Wave in a soulful nutshell.
Read your myspace site and I hope you are going to release new Das Kabinette material!
    Greetings from Germany

“Remember this has nothing to do with the image of the band.” It’s too bad… I love retro-analogue technology, and I’m disappointed that…

Kick ass – never knew there was a video!!! :-o
The window with it’s design like taken from the film is cool…

Amazing track and one of the most expensive records in my collection, but I just had to own a copy… That you apparently autographed it at some time in history was cool too. :D
