bathroom cabinet
dgmotley asked:

everytime i open that cabinet, its a puddle of water under that. i cant tell where its coming from. so im assuming its a slow leak. ill mop it up. but later on, the puddle is right back there. i tried leaving the cabinet open and turn on the sink. but nothing leaks out. so i have no clue where this leak is coming from.

Try turning the water on all the way when your looking under the sink. Sometimes you need to fill the drain line before the water will leak. My guess its going to be the connection right at the top of the drain.

You will have to get down there with a flash light and watch what happens. Is it during idle conditions? Is it leaking during usage of water? If you are patient, it will show itself. Good luck.

you could soap up all of the plumbing under the sink then crank up the air compressor and run air through your lines and the spot on the pipe that starts to bubble is leaking. It works on tires and innertubes so it should work this way. lol

it could be that the bottom of the elbow of the PVC pipe is come loose ,try to tighten it , in the mean time place a plastic container under the sink to prevent the water from puddling and even rot the vanity,
If you go to Home Depot in the plumbing department you might find some tape to seal the leak ,but for the moment dry the PVC pipe properly and wrap it with some duck tape , this is only a Band -aid repair , but it’s better then having water all over !

if water has been used and the puddle appears, it’s probably the drain.

if no water is being used and the water appears, it’s the water pipe(s).

it sounds like the water pipes if i understand you correctly.

turn off the valves under the sink as a first step.

if the puddle stops, then your problem in the faucet hook ups or the faucet itself

if the water continues, you problem is probably behind the wall.

If the water is just appearing when you are not using it i’d bet its a loose packing nut on one of the shut off valves
